WHAT TO BRING
WHAT TO BRING
We have provided you with this checklist to make your boarding preparations easier. Please ensure you read this document in full, and that you pack and bring along all necessary items listed below.
-
Carrier
All rabbits brought in for boarding MUST be contained in a proper carrier when they arrive and when they leave. You may leave your carrier here during your rabbit’s stay if you choose. If you choose to leave it here, we request that you label your carrier clearly with your rabbit’s name and your last name.
-
HAY
Please do not bring plastic storage tubs for your hay. We kindly request that you bag the hay if you use bales, or bring your hay in its original packaging if you purchase your hay from a store. Our storage space is limited and we unfortunately cannot accommodate storage containers.
Ensure you pack and bring along enough hay to last for the duration of your rabbit’s stay. If your rabbit(s) run out of hay during their stay, we will supply your rabbit with Oxbow brand Timothy Hay and you will be billed $2.50 per day for each rabbit for the provision of hay.
-
RABBIT PELLETS (KIBBLE) & MEASURING CUP/SPOON
Please ensure you label your pellets with applicable feeding instructions/amounts. Ensure you pack and bring along enough pellets to last for the duration of your rabbits stay. If your rabbit(s) run out of pellets during their stay, we will supply your rabbits with “Oxbow Essentials Adult Rabbit Food”, and you will be charged the amount of $1.25 per 1/8 cup, for each day we are providing pellets.
-
VEGETABLES
All vegetables must be brought pre-portioned by you in baggies, one baggie per meal, clearly labelled with your rabbit’s name.
Since vegetables will spoil, we request that you only bring 7 days worth of vegetables at a time. If your rabbit(s) are staying with us longer than 7 days, we recommend having a friend or family member drop off fresh vegetables for your rabbit(s) each week, or, you can provide your authorization for the expenses (which will be added to your final invoice), and I will purchase and replenish the veggies for you. I purchase the veggies at Safeway, and lettuces will be purchased in the prepackaged plastic containers.
-
LITTER BOX (optional)
Rabbits tend to find some comfort in having their own litter box with them during their stay. We highly recommend bringing it along for their comfort. We ask that you clean their feces and urine from their box first, but it is recommended you leave some of their “scent” in the box by not washing their litter box before you bring it. If you choose not to bring a litter box along, we can provide a standard size litter pan for them to use.
-
CHEWS & TOYS
Please bring 1 or 2 items for your rabbits to chew on during their stay. For longer stays, please bring along extras that we can set aside for later use, Please also bring along 1 or 2 of your rabbit’s favourite toys, for their entertainment and enjoyment. We ask that clients do not bring too many toys, as this will only serve to overfill the space. If your rabbit has a favourite stuffy, bed, or blanket, you may bring this along as well.
-
TREATS & SUPPLEMENTS (if applicable)
If you normally provide your rabbits with daily treats and/or supplements, please bring these along with you. Please label the treat container with daily amounts, limits and any instructions.
-
FORAGING MAT OR INTERACTIVE FEEDER (if applicable)
If you normally feed your rabbits with the use of a foraging mat, interactive feeder or slow feeder, feel free to bring this along with you.
-
MEDICATIONS (if applicable)
Please ensure you bring along all of your rabbit’s medications that will need to be administered during their stay. Please note that we do not administer medications that need to be given by injection. All medications must be in their original packaging, and must include the original prescription label with clear dosage instructions
We will provide heavy ceramic food & water bowls, water (bottled), a washable hay rack, and litter for your rabbit(s) during their stay with us. Litter is supplied free of charge. For litter, we use Canwick hardwood pellets, which are considered safe for rabbits. If you do not wish for this litter choice to be used for your rabbit(s), and you would prefer to bring your own litter for their use, you are welcome to do so. Our daily boarding rates do not change if you choose to supply your own litter. If you have any questions in regard to the items you need to bring along, please do not hesitate to contact us!
